Eddie Money, aged 70, passed away September 13, 2019. He was treated for his esophageal cancer at the USC Norris and participated in two cutting edge clinical trials.

His five children and wife of over 30 years, Laurie, said, “The Money Family regrets to announce that Eddie passed away peacefully this morning. It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to our loving husband and father. We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful that he will live on forever through his music.”

He sold more than 28 million records and was best known for his hits, “Take Me Home Tonight” and “Baby Hold On.”

Dr. Heinz-Josef Lenz at the USC Norris Comprehensive Center treated Eddie. His diagnosis was announced on his reality TV show, “Real Money,” in August 2019.

The Money family said, “Finding a cure will help everyone battling cancer….so please help fund (Dr. Lenz’s) research at USC Norris to find a cure for cancer. Thank you all in advance for getting involved. Your support helps us feel that we can do something to help everyone facing cancer.”
