The Unity Campaign for Frederick County
Participating in the Unity Campaign will help City Youth Matrix provide direct scholarship funding to Frederick area children that would like to participate in after school enrichment programs. Through participation in programs in the areas of art, music, drama, athletics, and vocational pursuits children develop self esteem, do better in school, are more likely to graduate and pursue post high school education. The results of our efforts will help to break the cycle of poverty by providing a pathway for local children to earn more through better education and opportunities. This is how City Youth Matrix stands with our Frederick ALICE families with children.
To support our core mission of providing enrichment opportunities for children, the CYM operations include four Family Empowerment dinners during the year that focus on providing families with resources and information to better support their children. We provide each client with a family liaison to assist them through registration and enrollment in after school classes. The Unity Campaign funding will directly support the continued development of this aspect of our core mission.
