We are raising funds for the Virtual Believe Walk because the Believe Walk is a life-changing event that brings a community together to celebrate survivors, support those living with cancer, and honor those we’ve lost. Every step we take and every dollar we raise will have a significant impact on cancer care and support services in our local communities.
As you likely know, everything is different 2020...and that includes the Believe Walk that we participate in as a sponsor and with a team each year. What started out as a 5k taking over the streets of Redlands has transformed into a virtual walk that celebrates those who fight cancers of ALL types. It also provides a way of remembering those lost to cancer and the sorrow of their loved ones. Each year, a group of our dealership colleagues and their families take part in the walk- festooned with tutus, homemade tees, and cancer-specific colors to show their support of their loved ones. It has always been a heartwarming, fun, and memorable experience.
This year is no different in the fact that we are still ready to fight and support our loved ones...but of course since it is 2020 we have to do it 6 feet away from each other. Yes, Covid has ruined something else!!! So, we are going to try and make lemons from lemonade and change it up like this:
*Employees and their families can participate as team members in the walk virtually
*Fundraising will go on for the entire month of October
*️Employees can donate to the team member of their choice, posters will be around the dealership with more information.
*️Dedication Banner on display in both showrooms, $5 for an 8x10 remembrance of who you are fundraising in support of.
*️Show Your Colors Spirit Day 10/9...wear the color of cancer awareness you are supporting.
*Jeans Spirit Day, 10/16...donate $10 to the team, wear jeans to work!
*️Pink Party, 10/23...wear pink (the more the better) and get a special treat
*Wear a Wig Day, 10/30...in support of those who have battled chemo, donate $5 to wear a crazy wig or hat to work!
As we well know, things are tough out there and whatever sunshine we can bring in means a lot in these un-precedented times. The activities and fundraising efforts plan will show our collective support to our own co-workers who have felt the pain of dealing with cancer, our customers, and the community as a whole. We ARE better together, as the saying goes, and this is a great time to show everyone that.
