The Study Abroad scholarship funds a life-changing experience for our students. Contributing to this merit-based scholarship, you’re helping our future leaders gain a global perspective and find their place in it.
This scholarship funds a UAFS undergraduate student to study abroad in a Spanish-speaking region. This scholarship empowers students to grow, learn, and have a world-embracing vision. Spending a semester abroad is a high-impact educational practice, one that many students cannot afford. The study abroad scholarship aligns with UAFS’s strategic plan to drive interest in UAFS as a first-choice institution.
The scholarship covers round-trip airfare, tuition, room and board, and professionally guided field excursions. Donors to this fund make it possible for our young people to step beyond the borders of the known and into the unknown, to have a life-changing and powerfully enriching experience.
Studying abroad in Santiago, Chile, taught me to take initiative. I went from being shy, with no leadership skills or ability to make decisions of my own, to putting myself out there and gaining the ability to assess decisions and implement solutions.
