Hi Everyone, it's Marisa and LJ, GCR's 19th Regional S'ganim. BBYO has played such an important role in both of our lives since we joined. We would not be who we are today without the people we have met, and the experiences that we have had because of BBYO. From regional events, IC, CLTC, ILTC, Kallah, and ILSI, the opportunities that we have both experienced through BBYO have truly been life-changing. BBYO has given us both so much that this year, we decided that we want to give back more than ever and share a donation page for #givingBBYOday. #givingBBYOday, a part of the global Giving Tuesday, is a day in which our entire Movement—teens, parents, alumni, staff, advisors, and friends—comes together to show our support for our local BBYO regions.
This year Gold Coast's Regional Board picked 56 individual teens to become ambassadors for our pages. LJ and I could not be happier with who we have selected, and want to share some of the recognition with them.
Our 8 ambassadors are Sydney Mrejen, Rebecca Katz, Sarah Berner, Lauren Ofstein, Aidan Tau, Ivana Chalik, Cohen Maxwell, and Bree Berkowitz!!
Here is a little bit about each one of them!
Ivana Chalik has been an active member of Gold Coast since August 2019. During her time in BBYO, she has held 5 board positions and attended CLTC 4 this past summer. She believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to explore their Judaism.
Bree Berkowitz has been a member of bbyo since the beginning of 202. Since she joined, she has made an incredible impact in both her chapter and the region. She recently attended her first regional convention where she met so many new people from across the region. The people Bree has met through BBYO are now some of her closest friends and she cannot wait for the next convention!
Cohen Maxwell has been an active member of Jordan Kronen AZA since 2020. He is currently serving his first term on his chapter board. He believes that Jewishness is just so cool and that everything is good if everyone is having a good time.
Aidan Tau is an active member of BBYO and has been since October 2020. He has held 3 board positions so far during his time in BBYO. He feels that GivingBBYO day is important because it helps give scholarships for membership to those in need.
Becca Katz has been a member of gold coast region since September 2019. She has been elected on board 3 times and attended numerous regional conventions. She has met her best friends for life through BBYO and believes everyone should experience this amazing organization.
Sarah Berner has been an active member of Gold Coast Region since October 2021. During her time she has attended 3 regional events has made friendships that she hopes will last a lifetime!
Together, our team is hoping to reach our goal of 2,500! Your gift today directly funds BBYO programs, leadership development, and fun, inspiring Jewish experiences for teens in your community. As we join together to welcome thousands of new teens this year, we need your help to ensure we can reach EVERY Jewish teen who wants to be involved in BBYO.
