You have been shown to this page for a couple of reasons: The first, this is my first big project at Notre Dame and I would love to have you guys help me make it a success. Second, we are raising money for an AMAZING cause. Who doesn't HATE cancer? I mean come on — it kind of sucks.
There is a cancer research institute RIGHT HERE in Northern Indiana. While they don’t do clinical trials or treat patients, the Harper Cancer Research Institute’s scientists actually study cancer. They spend their days trying to better understand it so we have a shot at treating it in ways that perhaps we have never thought about.
This week, I’m asking you to join me in supporting this amazing cause. It is the Harper Cancer Research Institute’s Virtual Race. You can donate $10 to join my team, or just donate whatever you want to support my team. Then, this week (January 26 - February 3) you can log you can get active and log your activity. For every 1 mile or 10 minutes of activity you do, another $1 will be given to the Institute by a generous donor who has pledged up to $25,000. HCRI researchers are dedicated to conducting innovative and integrative research that confronts the complex challenges of cancer. From common malignancies to rare and recalcitrant cancers, researchers at the University of Notre Dame and Indiana University School of Medicine - South Bend are united in multi-disciplinary teams with a common goal: to increase the survival of all patients diagnosed with cancer.
