Every Friday, over 12,000 of Frederick County students leave school not knowing if they will have enough food to eat over the weekend. That’s 65 hours without proper nutrition and an empty stomach. Studies have shown that adequate nutrition helps children return to school on Monday ready to participate and learn. Hunger is a problem that children cannot solve alone. Blessings in a Backpack, Frederick Chapter, has one mission and that is to help feed our food insecure children. Who will help feed the hungry children this weekend? Why not you?
