Women Build Week 2019
I’m participating in Women Build Week – the biggest Women Build event of the year! Over the course of 5 days, Habitat for Humanity will be framing and roofing an entire house with the help of 150 women volunteers. I’m not only helping to build the house, I’m also helping to raise the funds needed to buy the building materials and tools. Please help me reach my fundraising goal, which ultimately helps a hardworking family purchase an affordable home!
I've volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in 4 different states and have always been amazed by their contributions to each community. Their self-less AmeriCorp job supers work hard to coordinate/train the volunteers and oversee the projects. I've watched volunteers learn how to swing a hammer for the first time and by the end of the build day, were framing up walls as if they've been in construction their whole life. I too have learned skills such as running a saw or a nail gun. HFH empowers women on the job site!
